1. It's FREE!
2. They have the Bullet Train, which is cool, and makes the Eurostar pale into insignificance
3. They called their restaurant "Brief Encounter"
4. You get to watch "men at work".
5. It's in York, so when you have seen enough of the trains you can go shopping.
6. You can watch them demonstrate a turntable, with an engine on it.
I won't bore you with the other 95 reasons, but if you have the slightest interest in our rail history then you must visit.

Of course, the Bullet Train is Japanese and so there isn't a lot of legroom...I know because the first time I visited I tried sitting in several different seats. I'm 6ft. 3ins. tall and would have been very uncomfortable on a long journey.
